The Experience:
Your tour begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Kosgoda at 4:30 AM. You will travel in an air-conditioned vehicle to the Mirissa Harbour, which takes approximately two hours. The whale watching boat will depart from the harbor at 6:30 AM.
The tour lasts for about four hours, during which you will spend approximately one hour at the main whale sighting area. Your boat will maintain a responsible distance, slowing down and reducing engine noise to ensure minimal disturbance to the whales. The closest approach will be about 100 feet, ensuring a safe and ethical whale-watching experience.
A professional naturalist on board will educate you about the different whale species, their behavior, and the marine ecosystem. You will learn how to identify the whales you see while enjoying an environmentally responsible tour.
